US Suspends Tariff on French Products

The additional tariffs were scheduled to go into effect on January 6.

The US Trade Representative has suspended the tariff action in the Section 301 investigation of France’s Digital Services Tax (DST).   The additional 25% tariffs on French cosmetics, handbags and other imports were announced in July 2020 after a U.S. investigation showed a French DST unfairly singled out U.S. companies such as Google, Facebook, Apple, and Amazon, and were scheduled to go into effect on January 6, 2021. The U.S. Trade Representative has decided to suspend the tariffs in light o...
